Fall 2024 Design Project
"Making art is to create in scarcity"
The Troy Ave Music Center is a project dedicated to the youth of Brooklyn. The design concept stems from research in African-American history and a study of black music traditions. The music center is a 2 part learning and performance space, with a central plaza for large group activities. The aim of the project is to provide a safe after-school environment where young people can pursue their creative interests in dance, music, rap, or sound engineering while being taught by elders in the community.
